We have two new friends in FS2

Today I introduced two new friends to FS2. I would like them to visit your house and then report back their adventures. They are nameless at the moment and I would like you to think about what we could call them.

Here they are in their uniform ready to have fun in FS2 and enjoy time with you at your house.

What should we call them?

Leave a comment with suggestions for names. Remember they are twins, just like Topsy and Tim.

Congratulations to Ellie and Daniel

Ellie has had a great attitude to learning this week. She has been exploring colour mixing when painting and is able to independently organise all the resources she needs to carry out the activity.

Daniel is an incredible artist and I have really enjoyed watching him create new sculptures, models and drawings this week.

Well done to both of you.

FS2 in PE

FS2 have started a new PE topic, they are learning all about movement and dance. Mrs Cameron asked me to watch the performance today but I thought I could do one better and film it.

Big Talk

This week Big Talk will be a bit different, it's going to be based on the story we have been reading.
We have been enjoying using cardboard boxes and our imagination to invent new buildings, vehicles, and other amazing things.

I would like you to watch this video below and talk about what you would do with a box.

This week in FS2

This week has been another busy one! It started off with baking biscuits on Monday with Mrs Frisby and Mrs Horn.
We've been making castles in the large construction area, complete with a drawbridge and moat.
Moby and Lola even had a treat this week, their tank had a clean. The children were very interested to see Moby and Lola close up.

Congratulations to Connor and Riley

Connor has had a super week of learning. He has tackled the new challenges around the classroom with such determination. Well done!

 

Riley always enjoys coming to school and last week showed patience and perseverance when at the new sewing table. He remained focussed when trying hard to thread the needle. Excellent attitude Riley!

ICT in our class

We are very fortunate to have an Interactive Whiteboard in class and two little computers we call "Fizzbooks" Recently we were given a tablet to use too. We've played counting and matching games, used our phonic skills and helped the Octonauts rescue the animals. I am really impressed with how everyone shares and takes turns using the timer. Soon we will have an iPad to use, I can't wait!

Our week

We've had another great week in FS2 joining in with #simpleplay. On Monday we made art with the glass nuggets and flowers, Tuesday we played with the new house, Wednesday we enjoyed a walk to Skelton Wood, Thursday we had fun with "Tap a shape" and on Friday lots of different things were added to the dough.

I have chosen these two boys to be in the Gold book for the very first week back because of their continued motivation in class. I have been so impressed with the way they have been exploring the areas of learning in our classroom.

Welcome back to school

Welcome back to school, I hope you all had a wonderful time over the holidays.
Thank you for the cards and presents, we still have lots of chocolates and biscuits left to enjoy!

Throughout January we will be having fun as we take part in Simple Play 
So far we have enjoyed playing with the ducks in the warm water and today we've been exploring ice. (Look out for a photo collage later in the week) I am really looking forward to baking on 20th January, I wonder what we will make? Can you make a suggestion?

I made a new friend over the holiday called Mrs Beard, she is a teacher and we will be doing some exciting activities together. Their blog is in the side bar. Why not have a look at the bear cave Mrs Beard has made, it looks amazing.
