Our Week

Elsa, Anna and Olaf have featured heavily in our play this week. Here are lots of photos of last week's "Frozen" fun.

Our week

This week has been so lovely.
We've been able to make the most of the glorious weather and used the tubes and funnels in the water outside. We made our own apparatus to explore where water flowed when it was poured into a tube.
We've been collecting sticks this week too, we had a go at putting them in size order, some of us tried to measure them with a tape measure.
The fairies haven't been around much. On Thursday we received a letter from Will Wizard. He had them captured in his tree trunk house! Fortunately, he let them go after we had made him a new cloak, crown and wand.
We were delighted to find lots of gold fairy glitter around the classroom on Friday morning, it meant the fairies were back.

Our exciting week

As you already know, some fairies are visiting our class. We were astonished to hear that Mrs Critchley had managed to take a photo of them on Thursday night.

Our week

We've had some lovely sunshine this week. We've spent time in the new mud kitchen making pies and buns. On Friday afternoon, FS1 and FS2 enjoyed playing together.
Have a look at the slide show and watch out for the ladybird, fun in FS1, missing numbers in the maths area, making caves in the large construction and writing sentences in the writing area.

Our first week back after the holiday

It was lovely seeing you all again. I hope you had a super two week holiday and made the most of the weather.
In class we have been learning about missing numbers and having a go at writing sentences. Outside we have been making potions and dandelion soup.

Easter theme week

Our last week of term was full of fun.
We found out about the Easter story and made an Easter Garden. Some children were excited by the magnet investigation and went on a hunt inside and outside to find magnetic things. Other children enjoyed making sun catchers with sticky back plastic and Easter confetti.

This week we have tasted pancakes, enjoyed World Book Day, made bread and our own butter from double cream.

Our first week back at school

Thank you FS2 for a fabulous week. I am really proud of everyone's hard work in the areas of our classroom. We've enjoyed reading Elmer and using the story for our writing in literacy time and for counting and pattern making in maths time.

Here is the slideshow. Look out for a giant Elmer on the shed, ballet classes, ice investigation and a rolling game using the guttering and balls.

This is what she told me about it;

"This is a baby in the cot in the bedroom, he's wearing spotty bottoms. The mummy is coming up the stairs but you can't see her. There are snowflakes falling down outside"

Our week

Here is the slide show of everything FS2 has done this week. It includes using the pestle and mortars to make chalk paint and crush spices and herbs. Cardboard boxes have been a huge hit this week, we've played in castles, police cars, trains, and even an ambulance. Look out for Elisia's fabulous model of a tank she made with her big brother at home.

This week in FS2

This week has been another busy one! It started off with baking biscuits on Monday with Mrs Frisby and Mrs Horn.
We've been making castles in the large construction area, complete with a drawbridge and moat.
Moby and Lola even had a treat this week, their tank had a clean. The children were very interested to see Moby and Lola close up.

We've had another great week in FS2 joining in with #simpleplay. On Monday we made art with the glass nuggets and flowers, Tuesday we played with the new house, Wednesday we enjoyed a walk to Skelton Wood, Thursday we had fun with "Tap a shape" and on Friday lots of different things were added to the dough.

What a busy week we have had.

Phew, what a week! We've been so busy.

Buddy the magic Elf has already been up to mischief. On Monday he was swinging on a zip wire between the speakers!!!
He's been quietly reading a Christmas story and yesterday we found him in the Wishing Tree.

On Wednesday we went on a stick hunt to find small branches for our reindeer food bags. The reindeer food is for sprinkling on the ground on Christmas Eve.

We've been making baubles for our Wishing Tree. Tallulah would like a lollipop maker, Olivia SS would like a phone. There are requests for a yoyo, a Baby Anabelle and a cat.

Outside we've been making dens and singing songs from the Sound of Music.

The biggest highlight this week was the Foundation Stage production of Mary's Knitting. It was fabulous!!

What a lovely week we've had!

This week we've enjoyed playing with loose parts and tiny boxes.
Counting is much more fun when you have interesting things to touch.

Recognising your own name is important too, this week we've been making our name with individual letters and decorating them with glass nuggets.

On Friday we had a fun time making Christmas decorations. Thank you to the adults for staying.
